Summit Farms, LLC a large diversified farming operation, is looking for an experienced, mature Cattle Manager to lead a progressive, commercial and registered cattle operation in our Alden, Iowa location.

Position is responsible for overall strategic and day-to-day management of Summit Farms Beef Cattle Division. This includes Summit’s feedlot, feeder cattle procurement, commercial and purebred cattle operations. The successful incumbent will make solid business decisions pertaining to the day-to-day and future operations including but not limited to financial, relationships with suppliers, and personnel. Responsible for maximizing resources and profits through comprehensive evaluation of the overall operation.

Candidate should be a “hands on” leader with effective communication skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a work crew.

Candidate must be willing to work both outside and in an office setting as needed. A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing feeder/yearling cattle, commercial, and/or registered cattle operations is required. Experience must include thorough knowledge of the cattle industry, managing a feedlot, managing and leading people in a team environment, and strong decision making/problem solving skills with the ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Bruce is a native of north-central Iowa and was raised on a small, 300 acre farm near Alden.
