We operate a therapeutic horsemanship/horse rescue facility in the High Desert of Southern California. We do adoptions, as well as have resident rescue horses that we use for Equine Assisted Therapy. Our ranch sits on 5 acres just 10 minutes from town. This is an opportunity to be exposed to several different riding disciplines. We have had Warmblood eventers, Thoroughbred jumpers, Quarter Horses, barrel horses, roping horses, gymkhana horses, Saddlebreds, Morgan horses (driving and Saddleseat), Arabians, feral horses, Mustangs, pregnant mares, orphaned foals…you name it, we get a little of everything.

You will definitely learn a lot! We also use one of the best vets in Southern California. We hospitalize our horses here when necessary, so you will learn many different aspects of equine veterinary medicine.

The job description entails feeding once daily (18 head currently) and every other weekend. Training, riding, grooming and turn outs for about 15 to 20 hrs a week. This would leave you time for school or another part time job. However, if you are motivated, there is an opportunity to bring in horses for training for extra income for yourself. We can offer a salary based on commission of 40% for every horse adopted, which comes to about $500 per horse, $75 a day for equine help during therapy sessions, and you keep all training money (after board of horse) that you bring in to train. We supply room and board. You are welcome to bring your own dog/horse.

Horse experience and riding skills are a must, but we do not expect you to have experience in several disciplines.
