Mir Meadows is looking for a part-time, live on-site ranch manager. Due to the nature of the ranch, this position requires a small footprint (Individual). However, couples maybe considered. The ranch manager’s primary role will be to ensure the safety and well being of the animals, as well as, the upkeep of all facilities and equipment on the ranch. Under the direction of the ranch owners, duties will include:

1. Ensuring the safety and care of all the animals (horses, cows, dogs, goats, chickens) and visitors to the ranch.
2. Oversees the maintenance of all structures on the property including the private residence, barn, corral, and drive-ways.
3. Maintaining grounds (regular brush clearing, weed cutting, mowing, fixing fences, gates, and irrigation system, etc.).
4. Maintaining the orchard and garden.
5. Maintaining irrigation and sprinkler systems.
6. Maintaining ranch equipment, including preventive maintenance (tractor, mower, weed whacker, small engines).
7. Oversees agriculture management including growing grass hay.
8. Manages and pays vendors such as farrier and vets.

Candidates must have a love of the land and animals and a strong work ethic. We are looking for a self-starter with ability to work independently, be proactive and follow instructions. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, no criminal record or outstanding warrants and be drug free. Candidate must provide professional references in order to qualify for this job and pass a background check.

Skills Required:

  • Previous ranch management experience.
  • This is a hands on physical outdoor job which includes mowing, brush and tree clearing, fence maintenance, animal feeding and handling in all weather conditions. The applicant must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be a hard worker in unsupervised situations who can work independently and communicate with absentee owner on a regular basis via phone, text and email.
  • Applicant must be able to operate ranch equipment (such as a tractor, chain saw, etc.).
  • Position requires working knowledge of horses, irrigation systems, and managing electric fences.
  • Handyman maintenance of all structures is required.
  • Construction and remodeling experience a plus.
