Looking for Ranch Manager / Assistant Manager Position. Currently managing a 200 head cow-calf operation on 4,000 acres for the past 17 years in Okeechobee, Florida .
Experienced in all aspects of cow-calf operations including pasture management, health and nutritional management, vaccination protocols, breeding program, castration, deworm, dehorn , doctoring sick cattle (in the pens – my roping skills are adequate but not spectacular) Experienced in planting, fertilization, and forage harvesting. Mechanically inclined with own tools to maintain and repair most older types of farm equipment.
Skills include welding and fabrication, basic plumbing and electrical, diesel pump maintenance and repair, proper handling of HAZMAT materials, design and construction of pole barns and cowpens. Extensive background in heavy equipment operation. Semi -driving experience w/ current CDL License. Enjoy learning and passing on old-time skills, like cane grinding, whip platting, etc.
Lifetime hunter and fisherman. Non-smoker, no drug or alcohol issues. My spouse has her B.S. in Agricultural Operations Management and Masters in Agricultural Education and Extension. I believe in Jesus, family, and hard work. I am 52 years old, married for 18 years with an 11 year old son. Do not mind remote locations.
