Large remote cow calf operation in Central Wyoming looking for one ranch hand. This is not a “cowboy” job. 60% manual labor 40% cattle work. The size of the operation requires the use of motorcycles at times but we try our best to mainly use horses. Duties include fencing, mechanics, maintenance, carpentry, cattle work, putting out mineral, and general ranch work. You will be working along side owner and one other hired hand. We are willing to train some aspects of the job.
This is at 6 often 7 days a week job with morning and evening chores on Sunday and winter feeding. This is a ranch job and lots of work. We are 80 miles from town with 22 miles of dirt road. Winters can be harsh and can make travel to town limited. The closest elementary school is 45 miles away and Jr. high and high school 80 miles away with no close bus transportation. I can’t stress these two points enough. Cell phone service is sketchy. Wyoming based Union wireless works in most places, At&t also. No land lines at all.
We are family friendly operation. You are welcome to take wife/kids with you when its possible. This is their home too. They are welcome at brandings, etc. No live in girlfriends or overnight girlfriends so please couples must be married. While we are far from perfect we strive to be a Christian ranch.
Starting salary $2000/month
Housing included: Very nice 3 bedroom house with fenced yard.
We supply beef.
We supply wormer and vaccines, for horses. Number of horses will depend on applicant
No Smoking in houses or vehicles
Valid drivers license
Dogs must be under control. We have wolves so our cows are not dog friendly.
We have our own vehicles, horse trailers, etc so you are not asked to use personal equipment.
