We are a fast paced family-owned company that has grown from scratch in the past five years and needs a person who will jump in, who is respectful of the land we are grazing and the animals we own and are managing.
We are a mobile contract grazing company that is based out of Lake County with work taking us to primarily Mendocino and Colusa Counties. We graze pear orchards, alfalfa, vineyards, range and for fire protection. We run our ewes year-round and feeder lambs from September to April.
We are looking for individuals that want to invest their time and energy into our company and in return we will invest our time and energy into their future. We are looking to train folks to be capable of running their own flock after 3-5 years time on their own. That means doing all the work involved with an intense sheep outfit.
Work and training includes electric fence building, lambing, loading and unloading trucks, herding, animal husbandry, training dogs, working with other producers and landowners, and going to a highly recommended school of your choice (Soil workshops, Howard Wyman Sheep Leadership School, Ranching for Profit). We want to work and train folks that will stay in the industry and help it grow.
