Muddy Meadows, LLC
Muddy Meadows, LLC is a 14-acre retreat nestled in the rolling hills of Georgetown, CA. We are a full time, year-round family-run organization whose mission is to provide an animal and nature sanctuary for special events and public farm days. We also run a non-profit organization called Serenity Springs Ranch that provides foster children and their families a fun and educational environment where they can build lasting and meaningful bonds and relationships. Employment: Full-time position. Some weekends and holidays required. This is a nonexempt, unbenefited position. Paid time off is included.
Compensation: $13-$18 / hour based on experience. Must live within 30 minutes of location OR an on-site personal trailer can be made available for $800/month to rent with all utilities included + internet.
Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
- Landscaping, Pruning, & Gardening
- Groundskeeping entire ranch
- Property Maintenance – physical & mechanical
- Fencing – installation & upkeep
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Maintaining a clean work and property environment
- Assisting in project management
- Assisting in event management
- Maintaining inventory management
- Keep live-in trailer, office, and buildings used clean and professional
- Small engine repairs
- Use of chainsaw and other power tools
- Fleet maintenance
- Assisting Animal Caretaker with animal chores if needed
- Runs errands as needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma
- 2+ years at ranch or similar maintenance position
- 1+ years working with equines is preferred
- Valid CA driver’s license
- Must have proof of authorization to work in the United States
- Must be 18 years or older, non‐smoker and drug-free
- Ability to clear background check and pass drug screening
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (basic level)-orally and in writing.
- Landscaping and knowledge of plant care – irrigation knowledge
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Experience mixing and pouring concrete
- Hands on electrical experience
- Carpentry knowledge and skills
- Resourceful and flexible with changes and tasks
- Able to troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Ensures safety and creates a cleanly appearance of person and space
- Must love animals!!
- Have a positive attitude and sense of humor
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Enjoys working with children
- Ability to work long hours if needed
- Self-motivated, easy learner, able to be own boss
- Organization with duties and has strong time management skills
- Dependable, hardworking, and honest
- Willingness to do whatever is needed to be done at the ranch
- Ability to navigate a computer
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Physical requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors, on uneven, slippery terrain in varying weather conditions with dust and allergens
- Ability to walk distances, twist, bend, kneel, climb and use hand tools as necessary
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Safely operate tractor and quad
- Strong commitment to teamwork
- Ability to adhere to the organization's policies, procedures and regulations
