Grainger Ranch Recruiting
As the ranch manager of this 50,000 acre ranch, you will be responsible for the oversight and caretaking of a 250+/- head herd of cattle, 150 +/- acres of irrigated alfalfa, wildlife management and general ranch duties. The tasks and expected duties will include but not be limited to:
• Cattle operations management
• Monitoring range/herd condition
• Rotating, sorting and shipping cattle
• Branding, tagging, and weaning
• Calving heifers
• Cutting, bailing and putting up alfalfa
• Maintenance and upkeep of pivot irrigation systems
• Water line and well maintenance (Solar and Submersible)
• Keeping ranch horses ridden and fed
• Monitoring native wildlife
• Welding
• Operating heavy equipment
• Guest relations when owners and guests are present
Qualifications:
• Previous ranch management experience
• Previous cattle operations management
• Preferably having previous farming/haying experience
• Must be able to ride horses and monitor horse health
• Capable of Weldling
• Capable of operating heavy equipment
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and long hours during specific seasons
• Due to the location and vicinity to local schools, the owners prefer to find a man or couple that do not have dependent children in the household for the manager’s sake.
• Preferable age range of 30-45
