This position requires the employee to work 6 days a week on a rotating schedule from Monday – Sunday. Hours are 6:45am – 4:00 pm with an hour lunch break. We also require a min of one night check a week which is typically 7:30pm – 8:30pm. On average the employees work approximately 49 – 58 hrs a week, these hours vary throughout the year.
The position includes:

- 12 days of PTO after 1 year of work. Plus 7 holidays (New Years Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas day.) Schedules permitting
Grooms/ Farm hand position employees are required to work one of the following holidays (New Years Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas day)
Duties include:
- Cleaning stalls, paddocks and water buckets.
- Feed preparation, Providing hay, grain, supplements and water to horses.
- Grooming saddling, unsaddling, bathing, icing, bandaging.
- Clipping horses.
- Cleaning equipment and tack.
- Turning horses in and out.
- Administering basic first aid to horses.
- Maintaining barn area, sweeping, washing, general cleaning.
- Hand walking horses.
- Lunging horses.
- Loading and unloading horses from horse trailers.
- Handling horses for vets and farriers during medical or other treatments.
- Building and taking down jump courses.
- Packing, loading and unloading equipment for horseshows.
- Stacking hay.
- Arena maintenance, water and drag.
- Landscaping.
- Farm maintenance and repairs.
- Working with and operating small and large equipment.
Groom Skills:
- Attention to details.
- Willingness to work outside in all types of weather.
- Communication Skills
- Physical fitness and Stamina.
- Observational skills to notice changes in horses.
- Willingness to be flexible with day to day tasks and last min schedule changes
