Job Description:
Pasture management:
- Irrigation (Flood & gated pipe) 60 acres of fields
- Ditch maintenance
- Soil health, fertilizing & Seeding & weeding
- Marking, disc and harrowing the field
- Hay production – Cutting & bail and storing hay.
- Manage/care small herd of livestock – 25 cows, 100 sheep & 50 chickens – not on horseback type work
- Garden/Orchard irrigation & weeding
- Operate and maintain ranch equipment & tools
- General upkeep & assist other ranch operation
Qualification & Skills:
- Individual must be in good physical condition, not afraid getting hands dirty on manual work.
- Handyman skills
- Experience on irrigation & animal care
- Know how to operate and maintain heavy machinery like tractors, haying/baling equipment.
- Have strong work ethic, proactive in finding solution and can-do attitude.
- Be flexible to adjust priority as needed
- Compassion for livestock and their well beings
- Organized and efficient.
- May require nights, emergencies, weekends, and holidays if needed
