HOUSING EXCHANGE FOR RANCH WORK.
The Ranch is located 13 miles outside of Telluride, CO, at an elevation of 9,000ft. Caretaker’s cabin has full amenities and includes all utilities. Caretakers are expected to have their own source of income. If you work in an equestrian field, there is potential for caretaker to run a small business on site. Ranch owner of 30 years is a seeking seasoned, experienced, and dynamic couple OR an individual to oversee ranch duties year-round. It is imperative applicants are mechanically proficient, self-starters, handyman competent, comfortable with animals, especially horses. Caretaker will work an average 30 hours per week. Ideal caretakers will regularly take initiative above routine tasks, and be constantly driven to improve the land and facilities. Work is to be done by best practice in terms of planning long term fixes.
Caretaker’s duties include and not limited to:
- Snow plowing, cutting firewood, hauling and bucking hay, irrigation, landscaping, fence lines, gates.
- Care for animals includes feeding & watering, mucking stalls, overseeing blacksmith and veterinary visits, care for tack, ensuring our small head of horses are cared for at all times.
- Routine and preventative maintenance of all structures, utilities, systems, machinery.
- Arrange and supervise contractors when needed, working with them to expedite issues, monitor time and work methods.
