Are you passionate about the outdoors, skilled in land and equipment management, and looking for a truly unique opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Caretaker to oversee and nurture a stunning 300-acre waterfront estate designed as a natural sanctuary.

About the Property

This breathtaking estate includes forests, open fields, creek crossings, and future development for small-scale, sustainable agriculture. The property is envisioned as a peaceful, productive retreat focused on family gatherings, nature appreciation, and seasonal outdoor recreation. The owner is particularly interested in creating an environment that fosters joyful, lasting memories of time spent with his grandchildren in a beautiful, natural setting.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee Construction Projects:

Supervise and coordinate contractors and timelines for:

  • New entry roadway
  • Bridges and small creek crossings
  • Water control structures for dam management
  • Clay pigeon and shooting ranges
  • Infrastructure associated with small-scale, sustainable farming

Land & Wildlife Management:

  • Develop and maintain wildlife habitats for deer, turkeys, and doves
  • Establish dove fields and food plots
  • Monitor and enhance game presence across the property

Agriculture & Livestock:

  • Grow a variety of organic crops for family use
  • Care for a small number of livestock, primarily for the enjoyment of the owner’s grandchildren

Property Maintenance & Equipment Operation:

  • Operate and maintain mowers, tractors, skid steers, excavators, and other equipment
  • Perform general construction tasks
  • Utilize skills in welding, carpentry, and mechanical repair as needed

Event Support:

  • Prepare the property for seasonal family parties and gatherings, ensuring it is guest-ready and safe
  • Assist with setup and logistics for special occasions
