Lazy Y Ranch
Need live-in ranch hand to maintain 10 acre ranch in Warner Springs, CA. We have 3 guest trailers, 2 horses and a dog, lease 160 acres for our 30 cow herd and sell about 100 – 180 bales of hay a week locally. Live in our trailer and work 20 hrs/wk, or BYO trailer and work 15hr/wk. Hay delivery pays $1/bale in our truck, or $2/bale in your truck.
May bring 1 or 2 horses and 1 dog. We’ll pay hay for 1 horse.
No cigarettes or hard drugs.
Free to take on small side jobs in the area.
Duties: feed horses AM/PM, clean pens. Pest management. Check cows and water daily. Deliver 20-40 bales hay/load to folks within 20 mile radius. Maintain landscape, jacuzzis and patios. Repair irrigation and fencing. Be nice to guests and answer questions from time to time. Do small electrical or plumbing repairs in barn and trailers when necessary. Take trash to the dumpster weekly.
Skills: basic landscape skills, pvc repair, basic plumbing and electrical skills, how to run a wheelbarrow, rake, shovel and weed whacker. Operate and maintain generators, know how to buck and stack hay.
If you’re using your own truck, you must have a current driver’s license, registration and insurance. No benefits provided.
