We are seeking a dependable and experienced couple to serve as Ranch Managers and oversee the day-to-day operations of a family-owned ranch located in Concho County, Texas. This full-time, on-site position includes managing ranch infrastructure and equipment, overseeing both a white-tailed deer herd and exotic animals within high-fence and low-fence pastures, and operating a private community water system.

The primary responsibility of the couple is to ensure that all aspects of the ranch are well-maintained, secure, and guest-ready, allowing the owners and their families to enjoy the property comfortably during visits. This includes year-round care of the land, facilities, wildlife, and residential spaces, with attention to cleanliness, preparedness, and high standards of hospitality.

The ideal candidates are hands-on, self-motivated, and team-oriented, with a strong mix of mechanical, organizational, and animal management skills. This is a drug-free, alcohol-free, and smoke-free work environment with strict no-pet policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Wildlife & Herd Management:

  • Oversee health, feeding, habitat, and population control for white-tailed deer and exotic species
  • Coordinate veterinary care and maintain accurate herd records
  • Monitor and manage wildlife within both high-fence and low-fence environments

Facility & Equipment Maintenance:

  • Operate and maintain ranch equipment, including tractors, UTVs, and implements
  • Repair and maintain ranch infrastructure: roads, fences, barns, water lines, and outbuildings
  • Ensure main residence, guest quarters, and recreational areas are maintained to high standards year-round
  • Conduct seasonal projects such as brush clearing, spraying, and wildlife enhancements

Hospitality & Housekeeping Support:

  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of owner and guest housing (interior and exterior)
  • Prepare facilities for owner visits including stocking supplies, overseeing light housekeeping, and ensuring functional utilities
  • Coordinate with vendors or contractors for cleaning, repairs, or seasonal services as needed

Water System Oversight:

  • Manage and maintain a private community water system including pumps, tanks, and components
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly

General Operations:

  • Maintain secure access and perimeter control for ranch gates and structures
  • Monitor supplies and coordinate purchases of feed, fuel, parts, and household items
  • Provide occasional support for owner visits, including errands or basic hospitality services

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in ranch, wildlife, or property management (preferably as a couple)
  • Strong mechanical skills and equipment operation experience
  • Knowledge of whitetail and exotic species management
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, and utility system knowledge
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain guest-ready standards
  • Valid Texas driver’s license(s); clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background and reference checks

Conditions of Employment:

  • On-site housing provided (non-smoking residence)
  • No pets permitted
  • No smoking or alcohol permitted on ranch property

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary ($80k+ total for couple) based on experience
  • On-site housing and utilities provided
  • Paid time off and benefits available
