Ranch Manager Position
Location: Ojai, CA
Salary: $100,000+ per year

We are looking for a hands-on Ranch Manager to live on site and maintain day-to-day operations of a 600-acre ranch in Ojai.
Maintenance is to include all day-to-day upkeep of existing equipment, structures, irrigation, and grounds. The Ranch Manager is expected to be an expert in this subject matter and should rarely need to call in additional experts unless required by law, code, or regulation. Or in the interests of general safety for the ranch and its staff/vendors.
Grounds Maintenance includes, but is not limited to all trees and shrubs, lawns, fencing, landscaping, and irrigation. The maintenance and repairs of any fencing, structures, irrigation systems, roads, pathways, lighting, and gates on the property.
Building Maintenance includes, but is not limited to all structures on property. General Maintenance and upkeep, painting, repairs, cleanliness, gutter cleaning and maintenance, basic plumbing functionality, ensure all smoke alarms, fire extinguishers/suppression systems are in proper working order.
Vehicle fleet maintenance includes but is not limited to keeping vehicles in clean and reliable working order. Washing, fluid maintenance, light repairs, tire pressure, and upkeep of trucks, maintenance and smaller recreational vehicles. All outside mechanical services need to be pre approved by Management Team.
Oversight, Management and Control of all third-party vendors. Ensuring all vendors are properly insured and documented with Management Team prior to working on site. Overseeing third party vendor schedules and staffing to ensure efficiency and fiscal prudence.
Livestock: feeding and caring for all animals on the property. Liaising with veterinarians and specialized caregivers. There are 15-20 cattle on the grounds as well as 5 horses.
Well irrigation system: maintenance of the entire system to ensure proper functionality at all times. It is reasonably expected that day to day maintenance of this system falls within the scope of responsibilities for the Ranch Manager. All additional repairs or services need to be pre-approved by Management Team.
The Ranch Manager will serve as an Owner’s Representative with neighbors and within the community. Establish friendly relations with all neighbors and working collaboratively to settle any disputes in a favorable light for principals is expected.
Safety and OSHA Standards: The Ranch Manager will ensure all employees are properly trained on how to use all equipment safely and in line with local laws rules, and regulations. The training will be provided to any new hires and will be enforced at all times while working on the property.
The Ranch Manager will work closely and collaboratively with the House Manager to maintain all grounds surrounding the rental properties on site.
The Ranch Manager will be on site for all visits by the Principals.
The Ranch Manager will reside in a cabin on the property. This is a fully furnished 2-bedroom cabin with a kitchen, dinette, and office.
