Job Summary

Seeking a full time, hard working, self motivated Ranch Foreman for a recently purchased  private South Texas Ranch division.   The job consists of daily cattle, rangeland, equipment, hunting, and overall ranch management.  The job requires initiative, leadership, good communication skills, and sweat.   This is a hands on job.  The job is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor, help shape and build a first class cattle and hunting operation, and your career with our ranch.  The candidate will work with the owner and HQ Ranch Manager to set priorities and share resources but will need to be a self starter and able to work alone and get it done.

Relevant experience and references are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Upkeep and repair of fencing, water gaps, water infrastructure, buildings and ranch roads
  • Daily activities with the cattle including monitoring herd health, tracking and reporting births, feeding, and paddocks/rotational grazing
  • Operating and maintaining equipment such as side x side, tractor with implements, skid steer, and dump trailer
  • Pasture maintenance and productivity including clearing, shredding, clean up, and spraying
  • Participating in controlled burns and burning brush piles
  • Overseeing and reporting on project status/progress by third party contractors. ie fence builders, dozer operations, brush clearing
  • Predator control
  • Ranch security
  • Assisting at HQ Ranch when necessary
  • Interfacing with the owner, HQ Ranch Manager, family and guests
