We are looking for an experienced Hunter/Jumper/Equitation rider capable of riding, training/assistant training (depending on experience), and taking care of medium and large ponies. Our facility is a private barn at a private residence in Northern California. In addition to assisting with horses, this is a hands-on barn manager and assistant job that includes everyday, physical barn chores and barn management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Riding ponies and horses, including jumping
- Grooming and general pony maintenance
- Lunging horses
- Assisting with barn chores, which can include stall cleaning and other common barn chores
- Training/assistant training (depending on skill level and experience)
- Horse nutrition and feeding
The ideal candidate will be a self starter, detail oriented, and capable of being flexible and adaptable to changing, day-to-day needs of the facility. Experience working with children is necessary. If the candidate has enough experience as an English Hunter rider, but no formal training experience, a learning opportunity can be provided on the job.
A private one bedroom apartment is available on the property including all utilities.
