Seeking help on remote family farm/ranch in central Montana. We raise wheat and cattle, and tasks may include assisting with fence repair and fence building (both board corrals and barbed wire), maintenance, mowing weeds, assisting with grain production and haying, calving, cattle/animal care, washing equipment, cleaning out sheds by hand, and other general ranch chores. Must be willing to cheerfully assist where needed, and should be able to work either with or without supervision–you may be working alone, or with one or two other people. This is not a management job, and often includes dirty, manual work.
This is not a guest or dude ranch, and we cannot provide meals. Salary is paid once monthly. You will need your own truck and a valid, insurable driver’s license, but a CDL is not required.
Must have recent experience on a farm or ranch, and must be familiar with living remotely. Cell service and internet is limited. Horseback riding experience is strongly preferred, as moving cattle is done by horseback when possible, but please note that most of the work will NOT involve horses. A good portion of the tasks will involve maintenance or clean-up.
