Responsibilities include:

  • Handling stallions and breeding stallions to mares
  • Foaling out Mares
  • Handling foals to train to halter and leading
  • Feeding horses twice a day
  • Checking horses daily and identifying potential issues
  • Cleaning stalls, pens, shelters, feeders and waterers
  • Haying and distributing hay/feed
  • Maintaining and repairing fencing, gates and horse enclosures
  • Mowing, weed whacking, brush clearing, and general landscaping
  • Maintaining pastures and farm road
  • Operating tractors, mowers, and other farm equipment esp. all hay equipment
  • Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Completing minor repairs around the farm
  • Fixing problems as they arise and being able to think on your feet
  • Keeping barns, work areas, equipment, and the property clean and organized
  • Picking up feed, materials, or supplies as needed
  • Communicating any horse, equipment, fencing, or property concerns promptly
  • Helping with other farm-related tasks as needed

Schedule:  Hours may vary based on the needs of the farm.  Weekend availability is required as horse care and farm responsibilities continue seven days a week.

We need someone who is reliable, self-motivated, physically capable, and willing to work hard.  You should be comfortable working outside in heat, cold, rain and other changing weather conditions.

Previous experience with horses, tractors/farm equipment, fencing, and general maintenance is required.

Salary based on experience.

Fully furnished house will be provided.  Farm cell phone and farm truck to use for farm business.
