We have a full time position (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) at our horse boarding ranch in Winters, CA. This is not a riding position. If you are seeking a riding position please do not apply for this position. Horse experience is a plus but not required.

Examples of horse experience desired are:

– Safely and calmly catch and lead horses around the facility
– Understand basic safety regarding working around 1,000 lb animals
– Identify when a horse is in distress, sick, or injured

Responsibilities Include:

– Feeding horses
– Stall cleaning
– Turning horses in and out
– General ranch repairs
– Irrigation
– Operating ranch equipment
– Fencing

Skills Required:

– Responsible, Self-motivated & Able to prioritize duties
– Work outside in all weather conditions
– Capable of lifting and pushing heavy items repeatedly
– Able to lift 120lb hay bales
– Arrive and depart work on time
– Work without the need of constant supervision
– Read, write, and communicate in English

It is helpful (but not required) if you have any of the following experience:

– Basic mechanical skills a plus
– Driving ATV
– Operating a tractor
– Ranch maintenance (fence repair, digging, powerwashing, vehicle maintenance, etc.)
