The Hayes County Cooperative is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join their team in Hayes Center, Nebraska! The Assistant Manager must have a Class B CDL with Tanker, Haz Mat and Air Brakes endorsements.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing schedules and priorities. They should be flexible and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities, from customer service to deliveries, and be ready to help wherever needed.
Assistant Manager Compensation & Benefits:
- $58,000 – $70,000 annually

Assistant Manager Job Duties:
- Coordinate and schedule fuel, propane, fertilizer, and tire service appointments with local customers.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, including local farmers and agricultural businesses.
- Operate fuel and propane delivery trucks to safely and efficiently complete customer deliveries.
- Deliver fertilizer and contracted fuel products to farms, businesses, and residential customers as scheduled.
- Perform tire repair and replacement services in the shop and in the field for passenger vehicles, trucks, tractors, irrigation pivots, and other agricultural equipment.
- Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance, including oil changes and other basic servicing.
- Operate and maintain delivery trucks in accordance with company, DOT, and safety requirements.
- Assist with supervising and coordinate employees to ensure daily operations and customer needs are met.
- Educate and assist customers with the selection and purchase of merchandise, including feed, fencing equipment, gates, panels, farm supplies, and grass and forage seed.
- Maintain accurate records related to deliveries, service appointments, inventory, and customer orders.
- Assist with day-to-day operations and perform additional duties as needed to support the business.
Assistant Manager Schedule:
Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
The Assistant Manager must have their Class B CDL license, with Tanker, Haz Mat and Air Brakes endorsements and an acceptable driving record as reflected by MVR. The Truck Driver will be subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
