Kansas State University / Konza Prairie Biological Station
The Assistant Site Manager will work closely with the Site Manager and Director to support the operations of an 8,600-acre tallgrass prairie preserve and ecological research station located near Manhattan, KS. Responsibilities include supporting the station’s research and conservation mission by maintaining native tallgrass prairie habitat, assisting with prescribed burning, haying, and bison/cattle management, maintaining the station’s facilities, equipment, and roads, and supporting the activities of visiting researchers..
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma and one year relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. in agricultural technology, agricultural management, or related field plus three years farm/ranch experience.
- Proficiency in welding.
- Mechanic Experience.
- Experience conducting prescribed burns and working with large grazing animals.
- Background in ranch or farm operations with minimum three-years experience in the use, maintenance, and repair of farm/ranching equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and experience driving tractors, large trucks, off-road vehicles, and various other farm equipment.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
Salary commensurate with experience and education. $15.73 – $23.57 Hourly, $32,710 – $49,034 Annually DOE
