Looking for a couple who split duties managing a 10 stall private horse barn and surrounding ranch property near the town of Sonoma, California. Ideal candidates have the following skills and responsibilities:
Barn Manager / Rider / Trainer
- Excellent horseback rider who can ride and manage a 10 horse barn
- Experience with both English and Western riding a plus
- Knowledge of natural horsemanship principles
- Manage feeding, turnout, medication, bandaging, shoeing, etc.
- Comfortable driving a truck and 4 horse trailer
- Keeps barn clean and tidy
- Passionate in providing top level care for animals
Ranch Manager
- Maintenance and upkeep of houses and buildings on property
- Comfortable driving and maintaining tractors, forklifts, and other ranch equipment
- Assists barn manager with care for horses and other ranch animals
- A great team player and leader; able to work easily with others and problem solve
- Maintenance and improvement of horseback riding trails and arenas
- Landscape upkeep / general appearance of property
- Maintains irrigation and water system
- Handyman and ability to oversee construction activities
- Works with vineyard management company and other outside contractors
- Supervises ranch hands and other ranch employees
- On premise position which can include irregular hours
