The Middleburg Hunt
The Middleburg Hunt is looking for a Barn Manager/Whipper-in for the 2019/20 hunting season. The ideal candidate would be a hardworking, self-motivated individual that possesses the following:
• Detail oriented
• Great observation and organizational skills
• Confident rider with strong cross-country abilities
• Team oriented with good communication skills
• Willing/able to commit to work some long days
— Flexible with schedule when needed
Job duties include (but not limited to):
• Day-to-day care of hunt horses
— Bringing in/out
— Feeding
— Mucking out/bedding stalls
— Arranging for vet/farrier
• Grooming
— Pulling manes
— Trimming
— Clipping
— Braiding – button braids acceptable
• Riding
— Alone or in a group
— Whipping-in
• Equine first Aid
— Icing
— Wrapping
— Medicating
• Keeping barn clean and organized
Hunting experience preferred but not required. Competitive compensation package based on experience.
Years of Experience preferred: 3-5 yrs
