J Bar H is a big game hunting outfitter operating in the National Forest in northwestern Colorado, this will be our 27th year in operation. We are passionate about our work and strive to provide our clients with the best possible experience. We hunt entirely on non-motorized public land for Elk, Mule deer and Black Bear.
We are a horseback outfitter so guides must have horse experience and be comfortable using horses in remote areas. Guided hunts are run out of pack in wall tent camps with a cook providing meals.
Shared bunkhouse or tent lodging and meals are provided when not in camp and hunting guides are expected to help with day-to-day operations.
The ideal individual will be able to start in August but no later than September 15th to help finish setting up camps and learn the area. The guide will need to stay on through the end of the season, usually the third week of November.
Prior guiding experience is preferred but we are willing to teach the right individual if they already have strong horse and hunting experience.
Experience packing mules and leading strings is a plus.
Must be a non-smoker and physically fit. If you have your own horse or mule that you would like to bring that is okay, however we cannot accommodate pets. Looking for an honest, ethical person who wants to be part of a great team.
