Boot and Racquet Ranch
Caretaker Couple/Team needed at Private Arizona Guest Ranch
Historic guest ranch seeking caretaker couple or team of individuals to handle housekeeping, guest services, grounds keeping, maintenance, and animal care.
We are located 1.5 hours southeast of Tucson, but a world away from the desert. This 80 acre woodland property is in the Canelo Hills near Parker Canyon Lake, wine country and the southernmost access points to the Arizona Trail. Sitting at over 5100 feet elevation and surrounded by huge oak and juniper trees, the ranch enjoys cool mountain breezes, gorgeous summer monsoon rains, and even the occasional wintertime snow.
Under new ownership, the Boot and Racquet Ranch has been undergoing extensive renovations. Six guest housing units have been fully remodeled and renovations continue on the main lodge and outbuildings.
Ideal candidates would share our 4 bedroom caretaker cabin and be responsible for duties including:
- Housekeeping – cleaning guest houses, main lodge, office and “glamping” camper (fully restored 1960’s Airstream) between guests
- Grounds keeping – watering, raking, mowing, brush hog, weed whacking, gardening, tree pruning, fencing, deadfall clearing, chainsaw work, firewood prep, etc.
- Maintenance – upkeep and repairs as needed on anything inside or outside the buildings, equipment, vehicles, etc.
- Supply runs – trips to town for supplies, tools, feed, etc.
- Petsitting – care of owners 3 horses, 3 dogs and barn cats when we’re away
Benefits include:
- Housing – a $2,000/mo value in this rental market (utilities not included)
- Full time pay; part time lifestyle (less than 5 hours most days). We highly recommend our caretakers have another source of income such as remote online work, retirement income, etc.
- Flexible vacation and time off coordinated with owners to ensure 24×7 guest service/animal care coverage
This is not your typical guest ranch or resort. We run a quiet, low occupancy rate operation with occasional guests, mainly from our friends and family network with seasonal larger groups such as quail hunting season (Mid-November to Mid-February), weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats, etc.
