We are seeking a trustworthy and dedicated Caretaker (Individual or couple) for a beautiful remote 87-acre property nestled within the Tonto National Forest. The property is located in Gila County, Arizona, approximately 32 miles north of Globe and 10 miles northeast of Roosevelt Lake. It features 50 mature pecan trees; qualified individuals should have experience with irrigation as well as be able to operate and maintain various ranch and farm equipment. Electricity is supplied by a solar system with a propane generator backup, and there is also a small hydro generator. Experience with this equipment is highly valued. The compensation offered for this position will be negotiable for candidates who demonstrate expertise with this equipment.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the irrigation system, pond, and wells
- Performing general repairs and preventative maintenance of buildings and infrastructure
- Maintaining and repairing water lines as needed
- Irrigating pastures
- Repairing fences
- Mowing and weed control
- Completing all general maintenance on the property
This is a year-round, live-on-site position with a minimum of a 1-year commitment. A newly remodeled two-bedroom house with a loft that serves as a third bedroom and one bathroom is provided. All utilities and a Starlink Wi-Fi connection are included.

- Able to work independently without supervision
- Comfortable working alone or with others
- Trustworthy and demonstrates pride of ownership
- Experienced with irrigation and ranch/farm equipment operation and maintenance
- Must possess an active, clean driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a full background check
Please note: Daily drinking or drug use disqualifies applicants from consideration. This is an independent contractor position.
