This position is ideal for a couple that are looking for a quiet, scenic place to live and enjoy. We are 15 min from town so a car and driver’s license are needed. Our house is 4 miles southeast of Pagosa Springs, CO. It is in southern Colorado just East of Durango, CO and North of Chama, NM. We have a small ranch of ~ 40 acres. At this time, we just have 3 dogs and 10 chickens but are thinking of getting 2 horses and some goats later.
Daily responsibilities include:
– Care of property and animals when we are away.
Animal care:
– Daily feeding chickens, coop cleaning.
– Care for and love the dogs when we are out or out of town
– Possible addition of horses and goats
Maintain property and Ranch improvement projects:
– Inspect fences, roads, well, pond, barn and buildings and maintain or make repairs.
– Service and maintain – Tractors, dozer, backhoe, mowers, Polaris, and power equipment.
– Help out with ranch improvement projects like finishing barn, tree removal, firewood preparation, snow removal, gardening, pond stocking.
– Weekly cleaning of main house – general floor cleaning, dusting.
– Help with occasional entertaining set up and clean up.
– Help out with the back office of our new mountain tour company.
– Construction and woodworking experience a plus
We are offering living arrangements (brand new fully furnished apartment) utilities, internet, plus $2,000/month (gross). This isn’t a full time job so you’d have time to work part time in town if you wanted or just enjoy some free time. Our ranch has a gate accessing the National Forest.
