Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Cattle Farm and Ranch Employee for our farming locations in North Tazewell, VA. This position involves a variety of tasks related to the care and management of livestock, as well as maintaining the overall functionality of the farm. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidate MUST have experience operating HEAVY FARM EQUIPMENT, such as an excavator, back hoe, a track hoe, tractor and skidsteer.
Duties
- Assist in daily feeding, herding, calving, weaning, and care of cattle;
- Assist with breeding seasons, custom grazing management or pasture rotation;
- Operate HEAVY farm equipment;
- Repair and build fencing, corrals, and water systems;
- Perform general ranch labor and seasonal tasks as needed (irrigation, haying, etc.)
Experience
- Previous experience with cattle or ranch work is required.
- Familiarity with farming practices, including growing crops and operating HEAVY FARM EQUIPMENT is REQUIRED.
- A valid drivers license is required.
Salary: Salary will be based upon experience. Benefits include paid medical, dental and vision, paid holidays, paid vacation and company sponsored 401(k).
