Are you hard working and want to feel appreciated and important to the ranch and business as a whole?

Are you looking to begin a long-term career opportunity in a pioneering ranching business that guides you to becoming a great land manager, rancher and provider of wholesome meats to our community locally and regionally?

If the answer is yes, then have a look at these current positions available in livestock production. All of these positions are best suited for someone with two years of experience working outdoors. This person will need to appreciate a work environment that is based on the creation of day-to-day systems and processes. Additional experience in carpentry and vehicle maintenance, is a plus when considering applicants. With all positions in livestock production, you will learn and be accountable for the following:

Grazing and Livestock:
• Ability to conduct the everyday systems of livestock production and maintenance of ranch infrastructure. Oversee that animals are intensively grazed, gathered and moved from one area to another while minimizing stress on the animals and crew.

Projects & Maintenance:
• Construction, maintenance, and repair of fencing, water lines, vehicles, and livestock shelters. Fence building (permanent barbed and electric as well as temporary electric).

People:
Work unassisted on a regular basis with part-time assistance from other production team members when needed.

Work Schedule:
• One day off per week, additional half day off when livestock responsibilities are met. 8 to 9-hour work day. Occasionally 11 hour days in summer. After six months with CPM, you have earned one week paid vacation and one-week unpaid vacation to be used over the next 12 months.

Compensation:
• Shared housing available in a two story home close to the ranch headquarters. Three to four other CPM crew members will be sharing this home. Each crew member will have their own bedroom but shared dining and living room.
• Monthly meat stipend
• Discount on CPM meat orders

Three-month on-the-job trial period at starting salary

Applicant Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license
• Capable of lifting large, heavy or bulky items up to 75 pounds
• Able to work in variable outdoor temperatures and extreme cold
• Comfortable driving a truck and loaded gooseneck horse trailer
• It must be well understood that this job entails a large degree of manual labor.
