Live and Work on a Mountain Christmas Tree Farm – Couple Needed (Glenville, NC)

Bear Valley Farm is a beautiful Christmas tree farm nestled in the cool, crisp mountain air of Glenville, North Carolina. Our 118 acre farm sits at the perfect elevation and features sweeping fields of Fraser Firs, along with mini donkeys, chickens, ducks, a horse, and livestock guardian dogs.

Each November, we open our gates for the festive “choose and cut” Christmas tree season. Our charming General Store is stocked with nostalgic candies, local jams and jellies, thoughtful gifts, and delicious treats like fresh coffee and oversized cinnamon rolls. The store is open most of the year and is a beloved destination for visitors.

We are currently seeking a dedicated couple to join us long-term and become an essential part of our farm community. While we’ve met many wonderful applicants, we’re still looking for the right fit.

About the Position:

This opportunity is exclusively for a couple.

One partner will apprentice under our farm manager, learning and assisting in the planting, growing, and care of Christmas trees. A solid understanding or strong interest in soil health, planting, pest control, and general farming practices is essential.
The other partner will manage our retail General Store, requiring customer service and retail experience. You will help create a welcoming and joyful experience for all visitors.
Both individuals will share responsibility for animal care and general farm duties.

Requirements:

Must be a couple (no children, please)
Valid driver’s licenses for both individuals
Ability to pass a background check and have good references
At least one individual with farming and tractor experience is required
Comfortable working with animals and performing physical tasks
No smoking or drug use
Pets welcome (with approval)
Willingness to live on-site (beautiful housing is provided)
Looking for a permanent or long-term placement
