Montgomery Creek Ranch
Wanted: Working Horse Ranch Couple, full time, at 2,000 acre wild horse sanctuary/ ranch in Elk Creek, CA, 1.5 hours north of Sacramento.
Ideal couple is at least one experienced rider (Eng or Western) who is comfortable riding and training young horses and the other person is someone who can assist the Ranch Manager with taking care of horses, both wild and domestic, and upkeep of the ranch: homes, landscape, outbuildings, and equipment. Tasks include irrigation (hay fields), weed control, fence maintenance, etc.
Trainer/Rider position requires an expert rider with knowledge of Natural Horsemanship training methods.
Both positions are physically demanding and include working with horses, large hand tools and heavy equipment. This is a live on-premise position which has irregular hours. Looking for a couple who wants to be a part of a positive team environment and able to work under the resident ranch manager.
