Southwest Colorado ranch is seeking a highly effective individual to join our team to oversee the care of cattle, horses, pastures, equipment, and fencing.  We are a high-elevation cow/calf operation located in the San Juan Mountains.

Responsibilities include:

  • Calving
  • Monitor grazing, animal BCS and herd health
  • Wintertime feeding
  • Fencing, repair and maintain pasture fences
  • Safe pasture roping and doctoring
  • Pasture rotations, riding high county in summer
  • Irrigation/repair and maintain irrigation structures
  • Professionally represent the ranch, build and maintain relationships with coworkers and lease holders
  • Transporting cattle to various units on the ranch
  • Low stress stockmanship
  • Ranching For Profit principles
  • Operate Machinery

Qualifications:

  • Competent in horsemanship and pasture roping
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in cattle industry, calving, herd health etc.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather, alone and with a team
  • Life-long learner

Pay Range: $40,000 – $45,000 DOE
