We are a dynamic and expanding race/performance horse barn seeking a motivated, responsible, and experienced Crew Lead to oversee daily operations and manage barn staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horse care, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to high standards of animal welfare and facility cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily care routines for all horses including feeding, watering, turnout, grooming, and stall cleaning.
  • Supervise and coordinate barn staff, ensuring efficient task delegation and time management.
  • Monitor horse health and behavior, report issues promptly, and assist with veterinary and farrier visits.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in stalls, tack rooms, and surrounding facilities.
  • Manage supply inventories and communicate with management regarding ordering needs.
  • Assist with training routines and prepare horses for exercise, training, or transport.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and biosecurity measures.
  • Provide hands-on support during high-volume times and assist with onboarding new horses and staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in a professional equine setting, preferably with performance or racehorses.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Comfortable handling fit, high-energy horses and responding calmly in high-pressure situations.
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work long hours, and adapt to changing barn schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license; experience hauling trailers is a plus.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with equine medical care and basic first aid.
  • Spanish-speaking ability is a plus for team coordination.
  • Experience with farm equipment (e.g., tractors, gators).
