The Little Jennie Ranch is a historic, family-run cattle ranch in Bondurant, Wyoming. Alongside our working cattle and outfitting operations, we proudly provide premium, mountain and pasture-raised beef directly to families, chefs, and local markets. We are looking for a passionate, organized, and driven individual to lead and grow our direct beef sales program. This position has a ton of room for growth for the right person who is driven and passionate about beef, marketing, and excellence.
Position Overview
The Direct Beef Sales Manager will oversee all aspects of our direct beef program—from caring for yearlings destined for beef sales to managing inventory, processing, drop-offs and pickups, farmers markets, and marketing initiatives. This role blends hands-on ranch work with customer-facing responsibilities and business development, with an emphasis on skills and experience in marketing. The right candidate will be a strong advocate for ranching, beef, and agriculture, with the vision and initiative to expand our beef program.
Key Responsibilities
Animal Care & Ranch Chores
- Assist with finishing yearlings and caring for cattle entering the direct beef supply.
- Weigh in on the nutritional plan to produce high-quality, efficient, and well-finished beef
- Assist the ranch team with other ranch chores as needed
Farmers Markets
- Organize and attend markets (3-4 times/month in winter; 2–3 days/week May–Oct).
- Develop relationships with our partners and customers at these markets
- Train and lead helpers (ranch hands and guides) to pitch in at every market to help setup, cleanup, run sales, and represent the ranch help run our point of sale systems
- Potential to develop a position for an internship to help with Summer season and sales
- Organize and systematize inventory management
Sales & Marketing
- Grow our half-beef and whole-beef sales program.
- Build relationships with vendors and customers
- Develop email newsletters, social media content, and print marketing materials.
- Cross-promote and coordinate with our guest/ outfitting operation at the ranch.
E-Commerce & Logistics
- Launch and manage our Shopify online marketplace.
- Develop and implement a shipping program for beef.
- Manage inventory and coordinate beef drop-off and pickup.
Team Leadership
- Recruit and oversee a summer intern to assist with farmers’ markets.
- Grow the business to allow for a full time position or positions to assist with a growing direct beef business.
Technology & Tools
- Regular use of G-Suite, Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, Canva, and social media platforms.
Qualifications
- Strong advocate for beef, ranching, and local agriculture.
- Customer service and sales skills with a genuine ability to connect with people.
- Experience with livestock care preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift, move, and organize 50-65lb boxes
- Ability to work in walk in freezer to work through inventory, organize, and consolidate
- Proficiency with technology platforms (Shopify, Mailchimp, Canva, Google Drive, etc.).
- Strong organizational and logistical management skills.
- Self-motivated and able to balance ranch work with customer-facing responsibilities.
- Love for food and cooking beef is a plus
- Willingness to work weekends and flexible hours during peak farmers market season.
- Leadership ability to coordinate seasonal staff or interns.
