Valentine ET is premier bovine embryo transfer company located in the northern Sandhills of Nebraska. Formerly a subset of Larsen Vet Embryo Transfer, the company has a rich history of servicing donor clients from all over the US with a reputation for high quality service. As a business, we are focused on exceptional donor care, reproductive physiology, excellent client service experience, and facility cleanliness. We are seeking a full-time ET Center Herdsman at our facility in Valentine, NE.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Helping clients with incoming and outgoing donors and inventory
- Setting up donor cattle on superovulation schedules
- Heat detection and AI of donor cattle*
- Keeping vaccination protocols on schedule
- Inputting treatments and record keeping
- Communicating with clients regarding health, and performance
- General responsibility for the health of the herd, treating cattle as needed
- Hoof trimming abscessed and injured cows*
- Facility upkeep including spraying, cleaning pens, and snow removal as needed
- Managing feed inventory and hauling in hay
- Helping with maintenance on equipment as needed
- Managing upkeep of donor pens as needed
*We can offer skill training as needed for artificial insemination (AI) and hoof trimming

Day to Day and Hours:
Duties include donor processing and health monitoring, heat detection/breeding, maintenance of grounds & equipment, and other duties as assigned. Cattle handling experience is required, with AI experience preferred.
This job will require responsibility 7 days per week at times, with a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.
