Hard working American family farm looking to fill a long term position for farm hand.
Come join our crew in the mountains of Tennessee on our beautiful 400 acres. We are knee deep in creating pastures, building new barns, split rail fencing, growing gardens, orchards, managing our small Jersey dairy along with pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks all while following organic practices and rotational grazing.
Skills that are needed but not limited to include: having the physical ability to lift heavy hay bales, fencing and be physically active 5 days a week. You must be comfortable working in all types of weather. We are in the mountains of East Tennessee, a hidden gem of beauty in the wilds where Mother Nature shows you who is boss. Being a team player is important but being able to work alone is key. We work long days and being able to have a sense of humor is a must to keep us all sane…because this is not a job it is a lifestyle. Being neat and organized is a must not only on the job but in the bunk house.
We run several large pieces of farm equipment so being comfortable behind a tractor, skid steer, excavator along with trailer skills is needed. Having an understanding of carpentry, animal care, feeding, seeding, fencing, butchering and everything in between. Must be comfortable with a chainsaw. Previous farm, animal handling & gardening experience is strongly preferred.
Shared Housing with private bedroom included. We have a solid group that while young are old at heart.
We provide pasture raised meats, milk, eggs and seasonal produce as a part of your salary.
Must have a valid drivers license and car. No drugs/smoking/vaping/heavy drinking.
We are a strong conservative family that is no nonsense with our kids on property.
