We are seeking a mature and physically capable couple well seasoned in the care of horses to join us at our beautiful rural ranch in the mountains of Southern AZ.
The work includes taking care of equines and some smaller animals – feeding, removing manure, safe operation of tractor, cleaning and filling water tanks as needed, and other animal care duties such as healthcare as needed, holding animals for vet or farrier, etc.
This position requires that workers have significant recent equine care experience, and are open to learning our methods of care specific to each animal's needs. Heavy lifting is required, as is the ability to be responsible, dependable, detail oriented, able to work independently once trained, able to follow directions, able to see and hear, and to communicate.
We also have a vacation rental property so our ideal candidate would be capable of very detailed commercial cleaning (to include new COVID best practices) between guests. We require workers to be tobacco and drug free and we cannot have heavy alcohol consumers around the animals.
We are a peaceful, quiet ranch and are seeking a couple who gets along well who can work together or separately. Handyman skills are a plus. The work is part-time. We request 22 hrs/wk in animal care in exchange for housing/utilities, or if you have your own RV, the exchange is 12 hrs/wk for site space and utilities. Additional work may be available depending upon your abilities, and cleaning is a paid position.
