Little Ridge Farms is a privately-owned, 500-head cow-calf operation located in Dell, MT, consisting of a commercial herd of Red Angus and registered herds of Herefords and Murray Greys. I am seeking an experienced Ranch Hand / Foreman to join the operation. This position is best suited for someone who takes pride in what the ranching and farming lifestyle entails. You will be working as a dependable right-hand to the Ranch Owner. Housing is provided on site.

This is a full-time, year-round role. Hours vary seasonally. Calving, shipping, and haying will call for long days, flexibility, and on-call availability. Applicants must be comfortable with seasonal demands and ever changing weather conditions.

Responsibilities include:

Clear, consistent communication with the Ranch Owner regarding progress, concerns, and ranch needs
Daily care of livestock, including feeding and monitoring
Observing herd health, identifying illness, and assisting with treatment
Assisting with calving, including night checks, cleaning of pens and record keeping for registered herds
Participation in breeding programs, including AI
Grazing and pasture management
Working cattle horseback, SxS, and ATV
Fence, facility, and equipment maintenance
Operating ranch machinery and performing routine maintenance
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of ranch buildings and residences
Running ranch-related errands and assisting with supplies or deliveries
– – Preferred Skills (not required but a strong plus):
Knowledge of irrigation systems, water infrastructure, and pasture management
Experience with hay production and farming operations
