Private Ranch
Position description:
We are seeking an experienced individual to assist with groundskeeping and general ranch work for a large private ranch and home just west of Austin, Texas. The individual will be part of a highly skilled and strong performing ranch team, reporting to the Ranch Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with land management and groundskeeping maintenance to achieve outstanding property appearance and function
- Help maintain barns, equipment, and ranch infrastructure
- Help with fencing, light construction and road projects
- Help ensure high quality care of horses and cattle
- Ensure safety and security of property, people and animals
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of prior ranch hand or groundskeeping & landscape experience working at a high quality ranch, estate, or resort required
- Experience and physical ability to operate a range of ranch and land maintenance equipment, including utility tractors and skid steers required
- Excellent skills in mowing, shredding and general landscape required
- Strong communication skills and ability to a work in high performance team required
- Knowledge of weed and brush management preferred
- Ties to Texas and experience working in the state preferred
- Experience caring for horses and cattle a plus
- Must have the ability to communicate well in English and some knowledge of Spanish a plus
- Willingness to be onsite Monday-Friday during normal business hours and happy to stay late or work a weekend in the case of emergencies
- Must be able to pass in-depth pre-employment background check and drug tests
- Must have strong, consistent work ethic with references from former positions
Compensation:
- Highly competitive compensation. $52,000 to $75,000 to start, with rate per hour based on level of experience. Potential for additional year-end bonus.
