We are seeking a highly experienced rancher to join our team. This role is hands-on and deeply involved in all aspects of daily ranch operations, from managing a large herd to planting and harvesting feed crops. We’re looking for someone passionate, self-motivated, and ready to live the ranch life.
Duties:
- Daily care, health monitoring, and management of 800–1000 head of beef cattle
- Calving and herd reproduction management
- Feeding operations and seasonal planning
- Operating and maintaining farm equipment
- Planting and harvesting straw, hay, and feed crops
- Maintaining fences, water systems, and ranch infrastructure
- Working independently and as part of a small team
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on ranching experience
- Proven experience managing large herds of beef cattle
- Extensive knowledge of calving and cattle health protocols
- Strong equipment operation and mechanical skills
- Experience with planting and harvesting feed crops
- Ability to work long hours in all weather conditions
- Must be physically fit, reliable, and passionate about ranch life
- Class 1 or 3 license an asset
- Livestock recordkeeping experience (we use HerdX app)
