Majestic Dude Ranch
Do you have a passion for horses, a strong work ethic, and a love for the outdoors? Majestic Dude Ranch is looking for skilled, enthusiastic Wranglers to join our team for an unforgettable summer season in the mountains of Southwest Colorado!
Requirements:
Applicants must have at least one full season of professional trail-guiding experience. We’re looking for outgoing, hardworking individuals with excellent horse-handling skills and a genuine enthusiasm for guest interaction.
About the Role:
As a Wrangler, you’ll be a key part of our team, helping care for approximately 70 horses while leading guests through scenic trails and mountain terrain. This position involves long days, physical work, and plenty of time in the saddle — all in a fun, fast-paced, and guest-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Care for ranch horses, including feeding, grooming, and basic vet care
- Saddle, unsaddle, and lead daily trail rides for guests and staff
- Supervise arena events including team penning, rodeos, and lessons
- Assist guests of all ages with riding instruction and safety
- Maintain clean and organized barns, tack rooms, and corrals
- Help with ranch chores such as fence repair, pasture care, and trail maintenance
- Learn each horse’s name, personality, and quirks
- Join guests for meals and participate in evening social events
Our approach to working with our herd:
We believe in a calm, respectful, and relationship-based approach to working with our horses.
*Wranglers are expected to treat all horses with kindness, remain composed in challenging situations, and prioritize the horse’s well-being at all times. Harsh treatment or aggressive methods are not tolerated.
Ideal Candidate Traits:
- Confident riding in rough terrain with a strong sense of direction
- Clear understanding of horse safety, gear, and trail protocol
- Calm, positive attitude and ability to work well on a team
- Strong communication skills with adults and kids alike
- Willingness to work hard, get dirty, and have fun doing it
Bonus Skills (Not Required but a Plus!):
- Driving teams of horses
- Shoeing or farrier experience
- Tractor or trailer operation
- Basic horse vet care
This is the perfect role for someone who thrives in a guest-service environment and wants to spend the summer making memories in the saddle while contributing to a team that feels like family.
Important: All Wranglers must be First Aid Certified prior to their arrival at the ranch.
