A little about the business: We are a diversified farming operation of grain, forage crops, and livestock located in North West Indiana (Newton County, Indiana). We are multi-generational family farm that prides itself on a long history of being progressive trend-setters. We have a passion for agriculture and taking care of our land, our people, and our community.
What you would be doing:
- Operate field equipment such as tillage, planting, fertilizer application, and semi driving
- Maintain an organized work area and shop along with developing practices to improve shop organization
- Helping with livestock and their facility and maintenance.
- Perform ground maintenance including mowing and basic facility maintenance
- Maintain accurate field records, inventory, and weight tickets
- Assist with loading grain and maintaining grain bins
- Perform light maintenance and preventative maintenance on implements, trucks, and equipment
- Perform daily preventative maintenance checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall inspection
Qualifications:
- Experience in operating heavy equipment and mechanical experience in agriculture, construction, military, or a relatable field.
- Valid driver’s license required and Semi truck experience preferred/willing to learn.
- Proven ability to be proactive in completing work and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends especially during peak season
