Family farm seeks good all-around farmhand for help with both grain production and cattle care. Must have recent experience in farm/ranch work. Must be able to ride horses, although most of the work will involve upkeep and general chores.
We raise wheat and barley and hay, along with cattle. The successful applicant will have a good attitude and be willing to take orders well, but should also be able to be a self-starter. Most of the tasks will be done individually and not part of a team; however, being able to work with others as needed is also important. Outside horses are welcome. Non-smoking ranch.
Some of the tasks may include: fixing barbed wire fence and board corrals, painting barns, back country fencing, assisting with calving as needed, tagging calves, mucking out horse barns and cattle sheds by hand, bucking bales, loading grain trucks, seeding wheat, light carpentry to maintain outbuildings, and other everyday work that farms need.
