Wonder Farm
Wonder Farm (wonderfarm.org), a project of Wonder Dog Rescue in Penngrove, is hiring a part-time, experienced Ranch Hand, for approximately 20 hours a week.
The property is 5 acres and has 21 farm animals that include pigs, chickens, roosters and mini horses and several dogs. We are a non-profit organization and have staff, volunteers, and visitors present at the farm 7 days a week.
Our Ranch Hand responsibilities include:
- Provide basic care for our animals (brushing, letting out of stalls, etc.)
- Maintaining an inventory of food and farm supplies
- Picking up orders and running errands
- Interfacing with volunteers (i.e. assisting, providing help or guidance as needed, etc.)
- Filling in for mucking or am/pm feeding slots as needed if a volunteer is unable to attend.
- Picking up old/donated produce from grocery stores for the pigs, chickens and horses
- Some building repairs as needed for gates, barn, etc.
- Farm upkeep: sweeping, fixing, filling and emptying
- Help in the house, and with the dogs.
- You must be able to lift 50 pounds and a up to 150 lbs
