Scott Stock Farm
Scott Stock Farm is a Family Owned & Operated purebred cattle operation located 3 miles east of town of Crossfield. We run around 450 head of purebred Black Angus, Red Angus and Charolais cows. Artificial Insemination (AI) is a very big part of our operation in the spring. We market +100 bulls through our on-farm bull sale, held annually on the 3rd Friday in March. We are looking for a responsible, self-motivated, long-term member of our team with a positive attitude.
Job Details include:
- Operating and maintaining farm equipment, including feed silage with tractor and feed wagon
- January – March is calving season: help bed livestock, bring cows into calving barn,
- April -June is breeding season: AI cows, sort cows, heat check, fixing fence,
- July-August – deliver cows to pasture, drive truck and trailer, check pastures, general farm “housekeeping” like clean out shop, prune trees,
- September-December – cows are out on swath grazing, assist moving swath grazing, hauling bales, bailing,
- Assist owner as needed with other duties
Rate of pay:
$20-26/hour. Offer includes two (2) weeks’ vacation. Pay period is every 2 weeks.
Preference given to candidates with Class 1 drivers license, livestock experience and/or mechanical aptitude.
Hours of work:
8:00am – 4:30pm (8.5 hours) with 1 hour lunch break.
The start and finish times may be adjusted at different times of the year.
