Cobb Charolais
Full time employee needed for small mechanized feedlot and general ranch work on a family ranch located in foothills of Rocky Mountains west of Augusta, Montana. Ranch is scenic 20,000 acres with calving herds of 600+ mother cows along with seedstock bull development facilities. No horses we only use ATV’s and pickups.
Only qualified applicants need to apply: employee must be physically fit, able to operate large tractor for feeding hay, learn to operate conveyor belt/auger feedlot machinery and 2x daily walks through cattle pens, run haying equipment, wire fencing repairs, cowherd calving duties include first-calf heifers and includes rotating night calving shifts, cattle vaccinating and sickness doctoring, we use low-stress cattle handling. Other ranch duties as needed. Must have experience in tractor operation, some machinery repairs, and vehicle maintenance. Welding and construction experience a plus.
No drug use due to insurance liability issues. Drug tests prior to hire, also criminal background check.
Salary is negotiable $2,000 to $2,200 to start, paying time and a half only during 3 month calving season. Job includes a 2 bedroom furnished house, utilities including fiber-optic internet, and beef provided. Job can start mid-December.
