Gros Bec Farm
Gros Bec Farm is a 300-acre family-owned recreational and working farm located just outside Weimar, TX, We’re seeking a highly capable, trustworthy, and self-directed Farm Manager to take ownership of daily operations and long-term improvements. This is a rare opportunity to help shape and steward a thoughtfully maintained, multigenerational farm focused on sustainability, habitat conservation, and high-quality land and animal management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Livestock Management:
Design, implement, and oversee a well-structured cattle operation. Introduce and manage other suitable livestock such as goats, chickens, and donkeys in a manner aligned with regenerative and humane practices. - Land Improvement Projects:
Lead and execute a prioritized list of improvement projects, including new construction, road and fence maintenance, invasive plant removal, and feral hog control. - Pond and Aquaculture Oversight:
Manage multiple ponds and small lakes for ecological balance and recreational fishing. Tasks include water quality monitoring, habitat management, and stocking coordination. - Wildlife and Game Management:
Sustain and improve healthy populations of deer, dove, and turkey for family hunting use. Implement feeding programs, blind maintenance, and seasonal preparations.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has strong experience in ranching or farm management, ideally with exposure to multiple disciplines (livestock, land, wildlife, construction).
- Operates with high integrity, accountability, and sound judgment, often working independently without micromanagement.
- Demonstrates a “figure it out and get it done” mentality—resourceful, adaptable, and efficient in the face of challenges.
- Comfortable with both hands-on work and coordinating subcontractors when needed.
- Capable of maintaining a safe, clean, and functional working environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $50k – $60k, based on experience and scope of responsibility
