About the Position

We are seeking a dependable, experienced, and hardworking Husband and Wife Team to manage and support daily operations on a private hunting plantation and working family farm in Barnwell County, South Carolina.

This live-in full-time role combines livestock management, property maintenance, equipment operation, and household support. The ideal candidates are self-motivated, trustworthy, physically capable, and experienced in both farm operations and property upkeep. A strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and a positive, service-oriented attitude are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Livestock Care & Farm Operations

  • Daily care and management of livestock including cattle, goats, chickens, donkeys, and dogs

  • Monitor animal health, administer basic treatments (deworming, medications), and assist with veterinary care

  • Operate safely in corrals, chutes, and handling systems

  • Maintain barns, kennels, and animal enclosures

  • Manage feed, medications, and farm supply inventory

Equipment, Vehicles & Maintenance

  • Operate tractors, farm equipment, trucks, trailers, and utility vehicles

  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and basic repairs on equipment and vehicles

  • Assist with hauling livestock and equipment as needed

Land, Pasture & Property Management

  • Maintain pastures, including mowing, fertilizing, planting, and supporting rotational grazing

  • Build and repair fencing (wood, wire, electric)

  • Maintain roads, irrigation systems, and water systems

  • Perform general handyman tasks, repairs, and light construction projects

Housekeeping & Property Care

  • Clean and maintain multiple residences and guest lodges

  • Laundry, linen changes, and home organization

  • Prepare homes for owners and guests

  • Monitor supplies and report maintenance needs

Qualifications

  • 2+ years ranch, farm, or livestock experience required

  • Background in housekeeping, hospitality, or property management required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Flexible and willing to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays

  • Basic carpentry, welding, or electrical skills are a plus

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as a team

  • Honest, dependable, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic

  • Must pass a background check and be eligible to work in the U.S.
