Key Responsibilities

  • Feed and care for purebred Black Angus, Red Angus, Simmental, and crossbred cattle
  • Move and sort cattle; assist with preconditioning, pulling bulls, and herd health tasks
  • Participate in horseback work during pasture rotations and cattle gathering (experience preferred)
  • Operate and maintain ranch equipment: tractors, balers, feed wagons, skid loaders, etc.
  • Assist with tree-clearing and land improvement projects using modern equipment
  • Perform fencing maintenance, dead fence cleanup, and general property upkeep
  • Haul hay, grain, and distillers with ranch-owned trucks (local/regional hauling only)
  • Support haying operations and pivot irrigation on irrigated ground
  • Assist with seasonal tasks, including artificial insemination (AI) and calving

  • Occasionally assist with short-term projects at a nearby feedyard (temporary housing provided when needed)

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with cattle and general ranch operations
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate/maintain ranch equipment
  • Self-starter who can follow direction and manage daily tasks independently
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and adapt to changing priorities
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL not required)
  • Comfortable with horseback work and basic cattle handling preferred
  • Dependable, drug-free, and safety-conscious

Additional Details

  • Housing is not provided, but support in finding rental housing nearby is available
